Over 30’s Footballers, End Of Season Night Out
Well, once again we headed to Smugglers Cove for a good feed. Only eight of us could make it, some others were on holiday, some had birthdays to attend.
As the rain poured down outside on a July evening, it didn’t take long for us to get stuck in to the food! It was like feeding time at the zoo. One of us, (Kenny) had a platter for two for a starter! Unfortunately for Kenny, Clive came in late so he had to share.
As usual the craic was great, everybody bantering each other. As we munched through our main courses, Clive told the rest of us that himself & Richard had been laid off, due to the slowdown in the construction industry, we were obviously saddened by the news. So if anyone needs a joiner to do some work for them, please get in touch with Graham Hart who will put you in contact with Richard.
Most people are happy enough to have two courses, but not us! We all had enough room for dessert & then coffee & tea.
As we all headed off to enjoy the “summer” & hopefully not put on too much weight, we said our goodbyes & will start back on Wed 10th September. Anyone who’s over 30 & fancies a game of footy, we’d be delighted to see you at the War Memorial Hall, Lancasterian St.
A final word of thanks to the chefs who provided the food & to the waitressing staff who had to put up with us!
